Associate Minister
Reverend Lakisha L Tucker was born to Alfred Troxler Jr. and Selma Troxler. She was reared in a single parent household with one sister. She has a total of five sisters’ and one brother. She was baptized and accepted the Christ on April 1, 1984 at the age of 11 by the late Pastor C. W. Anderson Sr. It was at that place that she began to walk in the footsteps of Christ.
Reverend Tucker married her soul mate in September 2008 Mr. D. Eric Tucker, where they have a blended family of five children, Kiran, Daleeia, Dakira, Axavier, and Madison. They are also
the proud parents to SonnyGrace their German Shepard.
Reverend Tucker has always been dedicated to the late pastors of the church or their hospitability, but most importantly the love and support she received not just from them but also from their sons, Rev. Charles Anderson Jr. and Dr. Norman Anderson (Pam). One of the most impactful statements that Reverend Dr. Lois Anderson left her to cherish “be a well-rounded Christian,” and “you don’t have to be seen by man, God sees it all.”
It was November 2013 that Reverend Tucker’s life was forever changed. It was late one night that God reminded her of his purpose for her life, so she submitted to him and contacted Rev. Dr. Johnny R. Freeman, and the call on her life. It was at that point and he welcomed her and her calling and she began to walk the walk when many are called, but few are chosen. It was under the leadership of Pastor Freeman that she studied and was licensed to preach on April 12, 2015 at United Institutional Baptist Church.
It was summer 2013, that God sent a message to start a girls group and with the help of Pastor Freeman, Sisters United In Righteous Fellowship (S. U. R. F) was formed, and launched in January 2014. With the help of the dedicated ladies of S. U. R. F, SURF is still an active ministry working with girls from 12- through college.
Reverend Tucker graduated from Southeast Guilford High School in 1992. She matriculated to NC A&T SU in 1992 where she earned a degree in Psychology. She had a thirst for education and went back to obtain a degree in Special Education. With the passion to serve people and help them to fulfill their life’s purpose she received her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling in 2013. Reverend Tucker currently works in the field of education. Reverend Tucker believes that when the opportunity to bless others arises, don’t let it pass you by, it is a privilege and an honor to be on the Lord’s side and to be used by him.
